Rodhio, the Bluemoon Group unit dedicated to safeguarding value in gold and precious metals, is entering a new chapter in its more than 40-year history. With a comprehensive rebranding, a new logo, and a strong focus on digital and technological development, the company is consolidating its position in the international market.

In this interview, Luis Ricigliano, founder and CEO of Bluemoon Group, and his daughter Aldana Ricigliano share Rodhio?s vision for the future, highlighted by the achievement of international 99.99% purity certification. This milestone translates into greater trust for investors and foreign companies who view Rodhio as a strategic partner.

The Beginning

How was Rodhio founded?

Luis: Rodhio was born in 1982, when I finished my time working as an employee and decided to start my own company. I thought about looking at the periodic table, and I came across the name that struck me: rhodium. It was, and still is, a very complex, highly sought-after metal. I liked it and chose it. It was like an experiment. Rhodium is used in the aerospace industry and has a very important intrinsic value. That inspired me to found what at the time was called Laboratorio Rodio SRL. Over time, it became what our company is today.

What were the first years like?

Luis: I started out alone, with very few people. It was quite difficult, both economically and in terms of brand positioning. My goal was that, even though many others were doing the same thing, I wanted to do it better. I always tried to stand out, to push forward, to operate according to the standards I saw abroad. My drive was to research, learn, and let quality speak for itself.

Recognition and Consolidation

At what point did Rodhio begin to gain recognition in the market?

Luis: Over time, we gained market share because I always put product quality first. The market started to demand my work and respect it. That?s how I built a name and prestige.

Was there a turning point?

Luis: Yes. The turning point was in 2011, when we traveled to Europe and decided to build the plant at the Ezeiza Industrial Park. That?s when we realized we were ready to compete at the level of any international refining company. With technology, work, effort, and product quality, we reached international standards. That?s when people discovered that Argentina had a national refinery operating at a global level.

Certification and Trust

In a market full of companies advertising gold buying and selling, what sets Rodhio apart within Bluemoon Group?

Luis: We back our process with IRAM and ISO standards. We have product traceability, continuity, and quality that meet international standards, certified by companies that audit us globally. In addition, we are refiners and certifiers for Banco de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires, the only entity that sells and certifies the gold we produce. Thanks to the technology and development of our plant in the Ezeiza Industrial Park, we can compete on a global scale.

What formats do you offer for the public and investors?

Luis: We offer commemorative coins starting at 20 grams, as well as bars of 50, 100, 250 grams, half a kilo, and one kilo. Silver is also offered in shot and bar formats. We serve large investors, small savers, and also the industrial sector.

Ongoing Research

After more than 40 years, do you still learn from gold and silver?

Luis: Yes, I?m still learning. I don?t have the arrogance to believe I know everything already. Every day brings new challenges, new processes to research. When we are given minerals to process, we always look for the best way to do it?cutting costs, gaining efficiency. It?s a constant process of research.

Legacy and Digital Transformation

What was it like for you to join Rodhio and accompany its evolution within Bluemoon Group?

Aldana: The idea was to update it to the digital dynamic that works worldwide. So, we thought about rebranding. Everything we had achieved through processes, traceability, and technology at the plant?we wanted to reflect all that in the gold bar we produced. We designed the change so that people would not only see us as an Argentine refinery but also recognize that we reached the highest gold quality standards with the achievement of four nines.

What was your specific contribution?

Aldana: I began working on digitizing as much as possible within the plant in this era of Artificial Intelligence, to keep control over procedures and standards. By the end of 2025, we will obtain the ISO 9001 management certification. To achieve that, we must adhere to procedures that ensure processes are always consistent, always maintaining quality standards, respecting timelines, and respecting the materials we work with. I began implementing all this so it will endure, ensuring that the process, from start to finish, always remains the same.

The Product and Its Value

How would you describe today?s product and its value?

Luis: The product has 43 years of backing. We?ve managed to refine gold purity up to 99.99%, a level no other company in the domestic market has reached. In addition, we?ve maintained the same office, the same phone number, the same workplace. That continuity speaks of our seriousness.

Why would you recommend investing in gold instead of dollars?

Luis: Gold is a true store of value. The dollar has lost its backing?it?s just paper. Gold, on the other hand, preserves wealth. It can be bought, sold, and traded. It?s a commodity with both international and domestic markets.

Aldana: Gold is finite. It will endure over the years because it doesn?t get destroyed, corrode, or change. A gold bar will always remain a gold bar.

Thus, between tradition and modernization, the Ricigliano family continues to build Bluemoon Group as a set of complementary units, with international projection and grounded in trust, innovation, and certified quality.
