Visit to the most important mining event in the world

For the second year in a row, we were present at the International Mining Fair organized by the Prospectors & Developers Association of Canada.

In March we went to the International Mining Fair 2023, organized by PDAC in Toronto. This is the most important event in the industry and brings together thousands of mining developers, investors and geoscientists. Everyone mixes well and it works: there is a lot of cordiality and work synergy, which is very interesting. To access the International Mining Fair you have to apply and the selection criteria is simple: in Canada there is the Toronto Stock Exchange, which is the ninth stock exchange in the world by market capitalization and in which the main mining companies in the world participate. The globe is very large, but in the world of mining everyone knows each other and with Bluemoon, little by little, we are getting closer with a lot of effort.

On this occasion, we shared a stand with YPF (Yacimientos Petrolíferos Fiscales) and two other Argentine companies. The experience was very productive in terms of networking with foreign companies, seeing what conditions we are in and measuring what, in a certain way, is a “C” team against the largest “A” teams. Without a doubt, Bluemoon is technologically on par with any of the top-tier global companies, but what we do not have in Argentina, under the current credit conditions of the country, are the resources and the means to acquire more technology. Even so, among everything I was able to learn, I was particularly interested in Argentina's mining positions around the world, which again raises the recurring question about why, with the resources it has, this country is the way it is. Of course, for changes to occur in the management of our natural resources, political decisions are needed. It is not that I saw anything at the 2023 International Mining Fair that “shocked” me, but I did notice that with the resources we have, we are not that far from finding the way. If we had certain strategic and financial support to evolve, we would have nothing to envy the First World countries. In any case, the Fair was good for us: we managed to make people know us and know that we are here. We also made good connections with different Argentine provinces, since my objective is to generate work.

The anecdote of this trip to Toronto was that, every day, I had to put the card at the front desk of the hotel because my reservation expired every two days and I stayed six. So every day I had to renew my stay. At some point, I spoke to the guy at the front desk:

—Please, I don't want to come anymore —I told him.

And he solved it for me.

Canadians are very schematic, they have a system in place and they don't get out of it. I think that's why Latin Americans succeed: they have the magic of creativity. If you don't have creativity, you don't survive in Argentina.
